Last night at class, Guy and I first played at the spot/clicker board, then transferred the board to the end of the dog walk and played at it for a bit. Then I removed it and let him "spot" on the down ramp, clicking for a touch, then tossing treats behind him.

Then I let him get more feet on and tossed food behind him so he'd have to jump off.You might think that's a bad idea, but he got spooked about the dog walk one day when he was going up the dog walk. One of the AB's dogs suddenly came roaring up to the fence and Guy whipped around startled and his foot slipped off the edge. Since then, he's scared of crossing the top.

After playing... getting on, jumping off, higher and higher, he went up and across... not fast, but FASTER! I think it occurred to him that he could just jump off if he wanted and he could do it without getting hurt. It's a start.

He still gets brain freeze with all those other dogs around and forgets I'm there, but at least he's paying a bit more attention - I think. At home, he's doing great with extension and collection around jumps - not so at class... too many smells, too many potential playmates. Weaves are awesome though!
